A sixth member of the 2018/19 Bonnyville Pontiacs has committed to an NCAA program. Sean Thomson is heading south of the border to start his colliegate career as he commits to the Hamilton College Continentals. The Continentals are an NCAA Division III school who play in the New England Small College Athletic Conference.
The Brooks Bandits announced on Saturday evening their 16th collegiate commitment of the 2018/19 season. Carter Wolski is heading to the ACAC to play for Red Deer College King becoming the second Bandit in franchise history joining the program following in the footsteps of Ty Mappin.

After two and a half seasons, the Calgary Mustangs are in search of a new head coach and general manager. The former man in charge, Tyler Drader has accepted the position of new head coach of the SAIT Trojans of the ACAC starting in the 2019-20 season. During his tenure with the organization, no team in the AJHL has turned it around more than Drader’s Mustangs.
The Sherwood Park Crusaders made their way back to Spruce Grove after a disappointing performance in game three which saw them lose 5-3 against the Saints.
Head Coach Adam Manah made plenty of changes to his lineup with Brennan McDonnell checking back in on the backend replacing rookie Kyle Fulton. Nick Bowman moved onto the first line replacing Will Zapernick who moved down to the third. Then finally, Brandon Wallis was slotted into the fourth line centreman position with Tanner Fincaryk moving to right wing on the third with Jack Hamly and Zapernick.

On day four of the AJHL playoffs, the North Division side of the bracket is now complete for the first round series with the Drayton Valley Thunder and Grande Prairie Storm biting the dust with both teams losing their series 3-1. However, in the southern part of the province, we’ll have two game five matchups to decide the winners of each series on Wednesday night and who faces either the Brooks Bandits or Okotoks Oilers.

It was a good day to be a road team on day three of the AJHL Inter Pipeline Playoffs with five out of six travelling teams picked up the win in game three. We also had two teams eliminated from the postseason putting us down to 12 teams left overall.

Another second-period goal from Daine Dubois turned the tables in Game Two versus the Whitecourt Wolverines.
Much like Game One, Bonnyville found themselves down 1-0 after 20 minutes of play at the RJ Lalonde Arena. Hayden Clayton capitalized on a Bonnyville turnover and then beat Colby Muise glove side giving the Wolverines an unexpected lead.
The AJHL postseason kicked off last night across the province with six first-round matchups on the card. The night was filled with highlight reel goals, superb goaltending, and a game for the ages.

Bandits Extend Streak
In one of the most anticipated games of the 2019 season, the Brooks Bandits shutout the Okotoks Oilers 4-0 at the Pason Centennial Arena to extend their win streak to 23 games putting them one win away from tying the AJHL record held by the 2017/18 Oilers.
Saints name another LOI
Following in the footsteps of Ethan Edwards (University of Michigan Wolverines) and Liam Hughes, Zachary Douglas has signed his letter of intent to join the Spruce Grove Saints for the 2019-20 season.
