This past Tuesday evening, the Sherwood Park Crusaders added some feistiness to their roster with the acquisition of forward Ryan Rebelato. Rebelato comes in from the Kindersley Klippers in the SJHL where he recorded four points in his six games played. The 19-year-old forward has spent time in the AJHL where played he for the Calgary Mustangs, Whitecourt Wolverines, and the Camrose Kodiaks. Whilst playing with the Kodiaks, Rebelato was teammates with Crusaders forward Tanner Younghans.
“He’s feisty, he battles, competes and plays in your face,” Tanner Younghans told us. “Ryan is going to help out our team for sure. He’s a great teammate that everybody will respect.”
This is a great acquisition for the Crusaders, bringing in Rebelato gives them more depth in their bottom six forwards and he will bring more energy to the ice. Rebelato also provides a big spark to the lineup which has been missing in previous games for the Cru this season. The Calgary native is going to give everything every night for the Crusaders, a player that the fans are really going to love. It’s a tremendous deal which has really brought out the excitement from all over the organization from the boardroom staff to the players.
“Ryan is excited to for the opportunity,” said Kyle Chase, general manager of the Cru. “He’s really looking forward to the challenge.”
It is expected that Rebelato will be joining the team imminently, Crusaders fans could even see him as early as this Sunday’s against the 2-12-1 Lloydminster Bobcats.
