Canucks Trade For Veteran Goaltender
After conceding the most goals in the AJHL last season, the Calgary Canucks opted to go for a new man to own their crease.
The Canucks have acquired Adam Dmyterko from the Battleford North Stars (SJHL) in exchange for future considerations.
Dmyterko had a great season in Battleford playing in 23 games in his second season there. He posted a 2.51 GAA along with a 0.922 SV% which were both in the top five in the league.
With the addition of Dmyterko, the Canucks now have six ’20-year-olds on the roster for the 2020-21 season – Colin MacPherson, Jesse Carr, Alex Heal, Leighton Burns-Marion, Jackson Kobelka and now Dmyterko.
They also now have three goalies as their new acquisition joins Jay Thomson and Connor Martin between the pipes. However, it’s important to note that Martin is a Victoria Royals prospect who played a game for them last season. It’s possible he makes the jump next year.
Whitecourt Continue To Build
The Whitecourt Wolverines have signed 2001 forward Zacharie Dumas from the Upper Canada College Prep program.
Dumas is 5’9″ and 172-pound forward from Saint-Laurent-Lle-Orleans, Quebec. He spent two seasons with Upper Canada College Prep scoring 64 points in 50 games for them.
Dumas is now the Wolverines 12th signing of the offseason.
Bonnyville Trade Semchuk Back To BCHL
Before he could lace up his skates for the Pontiacs, Jarrod Semchuk has been traded to the Vernon Vipers in exchange for future considerations.
Semchuk was acquired from the Salmon Arm Silverbacks (BHCL) as part of the completion of the Jeremy Gervais deal that was made last January.
The Kamloops native scored three points in 31 games before being traded to the Pontiacs.
