Dragons Trade Defenceman To BCHL
The Drumheller Dragons traded the CJHL rights to defenceman Trevor Longo (2000) to the Victoria Grizzlies (BCHL) for a player development fee.
Longo has played in the WHL the past three seasons splitting time between the Medicine Hat Tigers and Vancouver Giants. He also had a brief stint with the Salmon Arm Silverbacks (BCHL) in the 2017-18 season.
The North Vancouver native has played in 154 games over his junior career scoring 11 goals and 36 points. Not one of those 154 games was with the Dragons.
The Grizzlys General Manager and Head Coach, Craig Didmon stated in the report that he was unsure if Longo would drop down to the BCHL next season.
Brooks Acquire Team Canada East Defenceman
The Brooks Bandits traded away David Paluch yesterday to the Burlington Cougars (OJHL) in exchange for 2002-born defenceman Brendan Kennette.
Kennette played in 45 games last season for the Cougars scoring five goals and 24 points. He was also a member of the Team Canada East roster that won silver at the World Junior A Challenge in Dawson Creek.
At the end of the year, Kennette was named one of the OHA Top Prospects and also to the OJHL All-Prospects First team.
The new Bandits defenceman is also committed to Sacred Heart University for the 2021-22 season.
